In short
Jolt is built to be private. Your alarms, activities, wake-up history, sleep and mood logs, and your name stay on your device — we never receive them. A few optional features (analytics, weather, and AI-assisted activities) send limited data to trusted service providers so those features can work. We do not run accounts, we do not sell your data, and we do not show you ads.
This Privacy Policy explains how FLUENT SOURCE LLC (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information in connection with the Jolt: Wakeup & Workout Alarm mobile application (the “App”) and this website. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
Most of what you create in Jolt is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to us. This includes your alarms and their settings, the activities you choose, your wake-up history, your mood and sleep entries, your preferences, and the name you optionally enter for personalization.
When you complete exercise-based activities, Jolt uses your device’s camera and motion sensors to verify your movement. This processing happens entirely on your device. No video is recorded, and no camera footage leaves your phone.
Alarm and reminder notifications are scheduled locally on your device. We do not collect a push-notification token or send you remote notifications.
Some optional features send limited information to service providers that process it on our behalf. We only send what a feature needs to function.
Analytics. To understand how the App is used and improve it, we collect anonymous usage events (for example, which screens are used) through PostHog. These events are associated with a randomly generated identifier, not with your name or email address.
Purchases and subscriptions. Purchases are processed by Apple and Google. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status, identified by a random app-user ID. We never receive your full payment card details.
AI-assisted features. If you enable them, certain features send data to AI providers to work. The AI Morning Preview sends information needed to generate your spoken brief — such as your name, the day’s weather, and the titles and times of your calendar events — to a language-model provider, and the resulting text to a text-to-speech provider. Photo-based activities (such as confirming you made your bed or went outside) send a single photo to an AI vision provider to check the task. These features run only when you turn them on or grant the related permission.
Weather. If you grant location access, the App sends your approximate coordinates to a weather provider to show local conditions. We do not store your location.
Requests for these features pass through our backend, hosted on Expo’s EAS Hosting, which forwards them to the relevant provider. We do not retain the contents of these requests after they are processed.
We share limited data only with providers that help us operate these features, and only as described above:
These providers process data under their own privacy policies. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Information stored on your device remains until you delete it or uninstall the App. Anonymous analytics are retained only as long as needed to understand product usage. Data sent for AI features is used to fulfill your request and is not retained by us afterward; our providers may retain it briefly under their own policies.
We use commercially reasonable measures, including encryption in transit, to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Jolt is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with such information, please contact us and we will address it.
Because most data lives on your device, you can remove it at any time by deleting individual items or uninstalling the App. You control camera, location, calendar, and notification access through your device settings, and you can turn AI features off in the App.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact us at the address below.
We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. By using the App, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions with different data-protection laws than your own.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and post the updated version on this page. Significant changes may be communicated within the App.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, contact us at legal@fluentsource.dev.
